Who We Are

Mertulemariam is a US registered nonprofit organization that aspires to connect members and friends of the Enebsie Sar Midir Woreda, living locally and abroad, for the greater good of the community. Mertulemariam harnesses the intellectual, financial, philanthropic, and entrepreneurial capacity of members and friends of the community to promote dialogue and action on social and economic development issues. We do this by providing a knowledge sharing platform for:

• Volunteers: We believe that everyone should have the chance to make a difference and Mertulemariam offers a network through which volunteers can identify and involve in areas they would like to take part in.
• Philanthropists/Donors: Mertulemariam offers philanthropists/donors the opportunities to connect with ongoing and potential development projects across the community.
• All interested individuals: Mertulemariam offers a platform through which interested individuals can submit proposals, or vote on submitted proposals on potential community project ideas and follow through their progresses and impacts.

MERTULEMARIAM is a non-profit and non-Partisan organization established exclusively for charitable purpose, as provided under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Its specific purposes shall be to:

• Support productive and innovative Education
• Empower women and increase overall participation
• Support children with disabilities in education and rehabilitation
• Contribute to and support the reservation of religious and cultural resources
